Jordan adopts Iran’s position on strike on Israel, saying it was in retaliation for Damascus consulate bombing
“Brake” in his moods Benjamin Netanyahu the international community must, as the Jordanian foreign minister stated, Ayman Safadi.
As stated by Jordanian diplomatthe international community must prevent the Israeli prime minister from escalating the confrontation with Iran.
Speaking during a press conference with his German counterpart in Berlin, Safadi said Iran had responded to the attack on its consulate and had announced that it “did not want the situation to escalate further”.
“We are against escalation. Netanyahu wants to draw attention from Gauze and to focus on his confrontation with Iran,” Safadi emphasized.
The Jordanian air force intercepted dozens Iranian drones who violated its airspace during the attack on Israel, saying it did so to ensure the safety of its citizens.
According to an NBC report, Jordan also allowed Israeli fighter jets to enter its airspace to shoot down incoming missiles, and the two countries’ fighters were coordinated by the US military.
Nevertheless, Jordan’s position is clear and, as expressed by Safadi, includes two strands:
1) Adopts Iran’s position that the attack on Israel it was in retaliation for the bombing of the consulate in Damascus
2) Escalation, i.e. an “answer” by Israel to Iran, must be prevented by all means.
