Biden signed a decree imposing sanctions on Donetsk and Lugansk

US President Joe Biden has signed a presidential executive order banning all trade and investment of any natural or legal person in his country. in the two self-proclaimed People’s Republics of eastern Ukraine officially recognized by Russia yesterday Monday, his services announced.

A complete ban on any “new investment” in Lugansk and Danieck by US legal entities and individuals, wherever they are located, as well as “imports into the US, directly or indirectly, of goods, services or technology” from both regions.

Washington is preparing to aannounce further sanctions to the detriment of Russia today, however, remains unclear about their content.

“We will take further action (…) on this clear violation of Ukraine’s international law, national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” a senior White House official told reporters earlier.

The official pointed out that in Donbass, in eastern Ukraine, Russian troops have been operating for eight years – something Moscow denies – and now the Russian president has decided to “act openly in this area”, to which we will “react accordingly”. However, he clarified that Mr. Biden does not intend to deploy US troops in Ukraine.
