Clashes took place tonight in Turin, where the G7 environment ministers are meeting. Members of far-left organizations and students tried to approach the hotels where the delegations are staying and the palace where the official reception is being organized.

The police closed the streets and pushed back the protesters with stun guns and tear gas.

The participants in the mobilization threw eggs, smoke bombs and glass bottles in the direction of the police. At the same time, outside a cafe-bar in a central part of the city, a small group of protesters threw chairs at the carabinieri. Around 50 students and members of far-left organizations were identified, while the Italian Minister of the Environment, Gilberto Piketo Fratin, expressed his support for the handling of the police forces.
