At the same time, as “Kathimerini” reported earlier, high-ranking officials of the Russian government include the list of the first package of sanctions that will be officially announced within the day.
His names could not be released, as they would facilitate the transfer of their funds from the European banks where they are held before the sanctions take effect.
According to the relevant legal documents, the list also includes the 338 members of the Russian Duma who voted in favor of the resolution in favor of recognizing the independence of the breakaway regions of Donetsk and Lugansk. The 13 Members who were the rapporteurs of the resolution were already under sanctions.
The sanctions include the freezing of the assets of these individuals in the EU. and the ban on entry into the EU. A total of 23 individuals and 4 entities (including three banks) are included in the list.
In addition, the provision of any financial services (issuance of bonds and other securities, investment services) by a European company to the Russian government and the Russian central bank is prohibited.
The measures, finally, include the freezing of any economic and trade relations between the EU. and secessionist areas.
