At least eight people were killed and eight others are hospitalized in critical condition due to a serious traffic accident that occurred earlier today in Florida, USA.

A bus with 53 people on board – most of them farm workers going to farms in the Dunnellon community – veered off its course and overturned after a head-on collision with a semi-truck on a Marion County highway in the northern part of the US state.

Another 37 occupants were taken to area hospitals to be evaluated and treated for minor injuries, according to James Lucas, a spokesman for the Marion County Fire Department.

The exact circumstances under which the two vehicles collided remain unclear at this time.
