Ukrainian prosecutors said last night that Russian artillery shelling had killed three people in as many communities in the Donetsk region.
One person was killed and three others were injured in a one-way raid by Ukrainian remote-controlled unmanned aerial vehicles in Ariol, Russia, its regional governor, Andrei Klitskov, announced via Telegram early today.
According to Mr. Klitschkof, a drone struck a gas station, causing damage, and a second one struck the same spot a short time later, killing a firefighter.
On the other hand, Ukrainian prosecutors said last night that shelling by Russian artillery killed three people in as many communities in the Donetsk region, where Russian operations are currently concentrated, along the vast front line – a thousand kilometers – as the a war that has lasted almost two and a half years continues.
Prosecutors in the region, which Moscow says it has annexed although it does not fully control, spoke of civilian deaths in Shiversk (north), Krasnohorivka (south) and Chasiv Yar.
The Russian army is advancing as it appears intent on capturing Chasiv Yar, a gateway to other strategic cities in the Donetsk region.
Prosecutors in Kharkiv reported that a civilian was killed in the city of Chugheev, southeast of the regional capital of the same name, where on Saturday at least 14 people were killed and dozens injured in an attack on a department store. Military governor Oleh Sinekhubov later said 16 dead.
