Non-college voters’ support for Biden has dropped 10 percentage points compared to the same period in the 2020 election campaign
The president Joe Biden bleeds into voters without a college degree, a category that includes black voters, Hispanic women, young people and “suburban women,” setting the stage for an even more lopsided 2020 election showdown with Donald Trump .
Support among non-college voters for Biden has fallen 10 percentage points compared to the same period in the 2020 election campaign, according to Reuters/Ipsos polls conducted before Donald Trump’s financial conviction porn star.
The Americans those without university degrees made up three-fifths of voters in 2020.
According to the separate Reuters/Ipsos survey, one in ten registered Republican voters are less likely to vote for Trump after the conviction.
The same survey showed Joe Biden ahead of Donald Trump by two percentage points. Biden’s lead at the same point in the 2020 campaign was six percentage points.
The polls showed that the only encouraging data for Joe Biden came from voters with college degrees and households with an annual income of more than $100,000.
Support among households with annual incomes below $50,000 for Biden is down 14 percentage points to 33%, while support for Trump is up 4 points to 40%.
Support for Trump is down 4 points to 38% among households with annual receipts over $100,000, while support for Biden is down 2 points to 43%.
But support for Biden has also declined in other groups that played an important role in his victory in 2020 .
Support among voters aged 18-29 has fallen 11 points to 37%. Trump has a slight increase in this group to 30%. The percentages of undecideds and those who declare that they will not vote are also higher.
Among Hispanic women, support for Biden is down 19 points to 39%, down from 58% in 2020. Also higher are undecideds and those who say they won’t vote in this group or those who lean toward other candidates . , Trump included.
Support for Biden among black men and women is down 15 percentage points.
Among “suburban women,” support for Biden has dropped 7 points to 42%, while support for Trump remains flat from 2020. Higher rates among this group are undecided or won’t to vote.
Polls show voters disaffected by Biden aren’t moving en masse toward Trump, are disillusioned with their options and represented about what they do on Nov. 5.
Poll Reuters/Ipsos May’s poll showed Biden’s approval rating at 36 percent, the lowest level of his presidency, just five months before the election.
Concerns about the economy have some Biden voters saying they are ready to at least consider voting for Trump.
Inflation has been a persistent problem for Biden, and despite falling from peak prices in 2022, supermarket prices are up 20% since he took office. High interest rates to deal with inflation also translate into higher car and housing prices.
Joe Biden won the 2020 election by a margin of 7 million votes nationally, but the Electoral College system means that the US election is won or lost in seven swing states, including Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin, where Joe Budden narrowly prevailed. In these states it won’t take much of a Biden attrition for Trump to win.
THE Robert F. Kennedy who is running as an independent candidate in the elections and has received up to double-digit percentages in some opinion polls complicates the game even more.
