The Government of Northern Macedonia has announced that the country is participating in the new package of sanctions of the EU Council against Russia and is ready to start the process of their implementation.
According to a government statement, at this stage the targeted EU restrictive measures, in which Northern Macedonia is involved, are aimed at a number of politicians and businessmen who have played a role in the situation in Ukraine and who are prohibited, for example. , travel through EU Member States and have access to EU financial resources.
The targeted measures also concern restrictions on the operation of specific banks of the Russian Federation in relation to the financial institutions of the EU and its Member States.
The political and state leadership as a whole have unequivocally condemned Russia’s military actions in Ukraine.
“Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is an attack on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, a serious violation of the basic principles of international law, a blow to democracy and a threat to the stability of Europe,” said Northern Macedonian President Stevo Pentarovski.
