The judge was known for the sentences against opponents of the government and the regime in general and for the FSB secret service.
The death after falling from a window of a retired judge in Russia who was involved in high-profile political cases is a mystery.
Natalia Larina, 50 years old, was found dead outside her apartment building in southeast Moscow at 8am on Wednesdayaccording to Russian news agencies, which report that her death may be due to suicide as a cause as a note from the woman was found.
The judge was known for her sentences against opponents of the Russian government and the regime in general and for the FSB secret service. He also had, as the Daily Mail reports, considerable experience in criminal cases.
Since the start of Vladimir Putin’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, there has been a series of mysterious deaths of high-level Russian officials, tycoons, oil executives and businessmen, several of them from falls from windows.
There is no evidence that Larina’s death is related to the war or her previous work.
The Baza Telegram channel said that in mid-May, Larina had fallen victim to a phone scam. Someone claiming to be her former boss contacted her, saying there were attempts to steal money from her account to send to Ukraine to fund the country’s armed forces.
According to Baza, in the same phone call she was told that she would be contacted by Russian special services and the Central Bank of Russia.
They convinced her to transfer one million rubles ($11,200) to a “secured account” and borrow another million rubles from the bank to transfer them. The woman notified the police when she realized she had been duped, Baza reports.
“The woman was very worried about what happened. The result was that all this led to a tragedy,” Baza said, adding that she had a daughter who was a minor.
