THE Emmanuel Macron expressed today Friday his support for the “real start” of Ukraine’s accession negotiations with the European Union “by the end of the month”, during a press conference he gave at the Élysée, alongside the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.

Macron promised that “France will continue” to support “Ukraine at all times” especially “at the European level, to try to achieve the real start of accession negotiations by the end of the month”.

The European Commission considers that Ukraine meets all the conditions for a possible start of accession negotiations with the EU, it became known today in Brussels from diplomatic sources. However, this decision requires unanimity and Hungary, an ally of Russia, is threatening to block the process.

Paris will supply Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets in Ukraine, he also announced on Thursday Emmanuel Macron in an interview he gave to French television networks. France will train the pilots, while the fighters will be able to attack military installations on Russian soil.

“Tomorrow (Friday) we will start a new partnership and announce the supply of Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets to Ukraine manufactured by the French manufacturer Dassault and we will train their Ukrainian pilots in France,” Macron said in an interview with French TV.
