At least 274 Palestinians were killed yesterday and 698 were injured in Israeli strikes on the al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, the Gaza Health Ministry announced today.

The civilians were killed in the Israeli army’s operation in the central Gaza Strip, which enabled the release of four hostages held by Hamas in the Palestinian enclave, according to Israel.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council over the “bloody massacre committed by Israeli forces” in the refugee camp.

At the same time, Abu Ubaydah, the spokesman for Hamas’ armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, said that some hostages were killed during Israel’s hostage-free operation in al-Nuseirat and nearby areas.

Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip have killed at least 37,084 Palestinians and injured 84,494 since October 7, the ministry said in a statement.
