A gunman opened fire yesterday Friday outside of Super Market in the town of Fordyce Arkansaskilling three people and injuring others tenannounced the police authorities of this particular American state.

Arkansas Sheriff’s Office Chief Mike Hagar said the gunman was wounded during the exchange of fire with officers, detained and arrested. Among the injured are two men of the security forces.

The incident occurred outside the Mad Butcher store in Fordyce, a town of 3,200 people located 70 miles south of Little Rock.

“Unfortunately, we are able to confirm that 11 innocent civilians were shot and three of them are dead. Two police officers were injured in the exchange of fire. The shooter was also shot and taken into custody,” Mike Hagar told reporters. Regarding the injured, he clarified that the police officers and the perpetrator were not seriously injured. However, some of the citizens who were shot are hospitalized in critical condition.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders thanked the police and first responders who rushed to the scene of the attack and saved lives thanks to their “immediate and heroic intervention.”
