Yemen’s Houthi rebels announced on Monday that they had launched attacks against four ships of “US, British and Israeli interests”.

Their spokesman Yahya Sharia said the first attack involved “the Israeli ship MSC Unific” sailing “in the Arabian Sea”, claiming it was hit by cruise missiles.

It followed a missile attack on “the US oil tanker Delonix in the Red Sea,” for the second time in the past week, the Houthi spokesman said in a briefing televised by the Al Masirah network.

In the same update, Yahya Sharia claimed that cruise missiles hit “the British tanker Anvil Point in the Indian Ocean.”

“The fourth attack was carried out with cruise missiles against the ship Lucky Sailor in the Mediterranean Sea,” the Houthi spokesman concluded.

Since last November, Yemeni rebels adjacent to Iran have frequently launched missile and drone attacks against merchant ships. They declare their determination to continue their attacks until Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip cease, while expressing their solidarity with the Palestinian people.
