The first official results appear to confirm the exit polls with Labor coming out on top to register a triumphant victory with Reform UK making the surprise of the night with what Nigel Farage himself described as “almost unbelievable” results and the Tories recording a historic defeat.
According to the results of the 41 constituencies announced, the Workers they win 35 seats with a share of 43.2% of the vote. The Conservatives they have three seats and a 20.4% vote share.
The Liberal Democrats ehave won in two constituencies with 19.9% of the total votes, while the Reform UK has 19.9% of the vote, means success in one seat.
The Green Party has 6.5% of the vote.
Detailed first results by region
TheSunderland South won the race and was first to announce the night’s results showing a solid Labor lead and a huge surge for the populist Reform UK party. The exit poll by British broadcasters predicts that Reform – which did not exist in its current form at the last UK general election – will win 13 seats.
“What does it mean? It means we’re going to win seats. Many, many seats, I think, right now across the country,” Farage added.
“That will be six million votes plus. This, guys, is huge,” he concluded.
Farage also attacked the media by claiming that no Reform UK spokesperson appeared on the election night coverage. “There is not a single representative from Reform UK,” he said.
