Kremlin refuses to comment on “progress” of Russian invasion of Ukraine

by

The Kremlin declined to comment on the Russian military’s incursion into Ukrainian territory, citing the military.

“I do not think it’s time to sum up the results of the (military) operation, we have to wait for the operation to be completed,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov told reporters.

The Russian military has acknowledged casualties on the Ukrainian front, but did not give specific figures.

Russian forces have faced tougher resistance than expected from the Ukrainian military, as well as unexpected supply difficulties, two senior US officials told CNN with immediate knowledge of the developments.

The number of civilian deaths has reached a three-digit number from the start of the invasion last Thursday. The latest report from the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights puts the death toll at 102 and 304 injured, but fears that the numbers could be even higher. Among the victims are seven children.

The displaced have reached 422,000.
