One Palestinian was killed and another was seriously injured by Israeli army gunmen in the occupied West Bank during a raid on a refugee camp, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

The Israeli army “opened fire on Jenin’s camp,” the ministry said in a press release.

According to sources close to the Palestinian security forces, the man killed was named Abdullah Hosari and lived in the Jenin camp.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, he was a former prisoner in Israel.

The second man has been “seriously injured by bullets to the head” and was taken to hospital, WAFA also reported.

Last week, Israeli soldiers killed a 14-year-old Palestinian man who, according to Israeli authorities, fired Molotov cocktails near Bethlehem.

There are some 475,000 Jewish settlers in the West Bank, out of a total of 2.9 million Palestinians, in settlements that are generally considered illegal under international law.
