Mônica Bergamo: Survey shows that 58% want a review of the labor reform

by

A survey by Genial/Quaest shows that 53% of Brazilians are against the labor reform approved in the Michel Temer government in 2017, against 27% who say they are in favor. And 58% defend its revision, even partially.

HAMMER & NAIL

Rejection of the reform is greater among Lula voters (64%) than among Jair Bolsonaro’s voters (33%). Of those who vote for the PT, 67% think it should be revised.

The spending ceiling, on the other hand, divides opinions: 32% approve the measure, against 40% who reject it. Support increases according to income: among those earning up to two minimum wages, 27% agree with the government spending limit. In the range of those who receive between two and five salaries, support jumps to 32%. Among those who earn more than five salaries, it reaches 40%.

ON THE AGENDA

The two themes, especially the labor reform, returned to the agenda in view of the possibility that Lula, if elected, would review the rules approved in the Temer government.

ON AGENDA 2

The PT has already said that he intends to carry out a labor review to regain rights. He states that it is necessary to bring together unions, businessmen and the government to study the changes. “We don’t want to do anything by force, but we want to discuss what is good for Brazil,” he said last week.

FLAGS

The president of the Instituto Tomie Ohtake, Ricardo Ohtake, and the councilor of São Paulo Eduardo Suplicy (PT) participated in a guided tour of the exhibition “Volpi Popular”, at Masp, in the capital of São Paulo. The tour, held on Thursday (24), was aimed at patrons of the museum, such as Ohtake. The institution’s vice-president director, Juliana Siqueira de Sá, was there. The exhibition is curated by Masp’s chief curator, Tomás Toledo.
