The president and CEO of the American cyber security company reassures global public opinion CrowdStrike George Kurtz, after the technical problem that “dropped” the networks. The problem is due to a security update by the company on Microsoft’s servers that concerns large customers (Azure), i.e. multinationals, banks, airlines, etc.

Problem detected, “not a security incident or cyber attack” says the head of CrowdStrike on his X account.

“CrowdStrike is actively working with customers affected by a flaw identified in a content update for Windows hosts. Mac and Linux hosts are not affected. This is not a security incident or cyber attack. The problem has been identified, isolated and a fix has been developed. We refer customers to the support portal for the latest updates and will continue to provide full and continuous updates on our website. We further recommend that organizations ensure they communicate with CrowdStrike representatives through official channels. Our team is fully mobilized to ensure the security and stability of CrowdStrike’s customers.”

The security update of US cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike has been removed, tech giant Microsoft announced on its blog.

“We can confirm that the affected update has been removed by CrowdStrike; Customers who continue to experience problems should contact CrowdStrike for additional assistance.

“Additionally, we are continuing to explore additional options to mitigate the problem for customers and will share more information as it becomes available.”

“In Greece, the problems are very isolated,” the Minister of Digital Governance told SKAI 100.3 Dimitris Papastergiou.
