Things got out of hand today in the Parliament of Turkey, which for a few moments turned into a ring.

In the spotlight was former transport minister and AKP member Adil Karaismailoğlu who first slapped and then punched pro-Kurdish DEM MP Ali Bozan when he told him “you are a thief”.

Ali Bozan retaliated and the fight would continue, but the other MPs intervened and separated them.

The topic of discussion was a tax bill and Bozan in his speech railed against the government, saying that the AK is stealing from the pockets of workers, civil servants and pensioners. “Their voices cannot be heard for this and I cry out on their behalf there are thieves. … You are thieves. … Say you are not thieves.” His statements Ali Bozan initially angered the AKP MPs who verbally attacked him.

As the blood heated up, the deputy speaker of the Parliament asked for a 15-minute break. However, the debate continued. According to reports in the Turkish press, AKP deputies began to move threateningly towards Bozan. MPs of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) got in the middle and somewhere there Adil Karaismailoğlu attacked Ali Bozan.
