Speaking in excerpts from a documentary released today, Prince Harry said that his legal battles with the British tabloids; contributed to shaking his relationship with the royal family.

“He’s definitely played a central role in that.”Harry told the ITV television network, in the documentary Tabloids on Trial.

Harry has taken legal action against News Group Newspapers (NGN), the UK subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s group, and the publisher of the Daily Mail in two separate lawsuits, accusing them of wrongful practices by journalists and private investigators over many years. .

Harry has previously described the lawsuits as his “mission”. Both publishing companies deny the allegations.

“I think from a service perspective and when you’re in a public role, those are the things we should do for the greater good, but I’m doing this for my own reasons,” he told ITV.

“For me, this mission continues, but it has caused…partly a rift,” he added.

Harry blames the British media for the death of his mother Princess Diana in 1997 in a car accident. He has accused British newspapers of hostile and racist attacks on his American wife Meghan, which he cites as a factor in his decision to step down from royal duties and move to California in 2020.
