With highly critical language, Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented on the speech of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to the American Congress. He called him “the Hitler of our time” and a “butcher”, and lashed out at US senators and congressmen who applauded him.

Speaking at an event on the Turkish high-tech support program, the Turkish president referred to the speech of Benjamin Netanyahu, yesterday Wednesday, before the joint session of the two bodies of the American Congress. “Since October 7, people have been watching the killing of babies from afar as if they were watching a movie. Netanyahu’s killer is applauded in the US. What kind of project is this? Is it possible to understand this? What about democracy, what about freedom, what about human rights” he said among other things.

He further argued that “the current world system, which was created to protect the interests of the victors of the Second World War, is beginning to expire. One need only look at the crises of the recent past to show that the system has already raised the flag of bankruptcy. The conflict in Syria is 13 years old, the war in Ukraine continues, Sudan is in turmoil before Yemen is stabilized, 40,000 civilians have lost their lives in Gaza and genocide has not been prevented for 10 months.”

Continuing, he lashed out at American lawmakers: “Consider the House of Representatives applauding those who slaughtered nearly 40,000 people.”

“On the one hand, there is a wave of applause there. Not to stop the slaughter, we are in front of a phenomenon of loss of reason and conscience, from those who hosted in their Congress and gave a standing ovation 57 times to the delirious speech of the butcher. Those who verbally give lessons in democracy to the whole world are not ashamed of those who exalt the Hitler of our time. They do not blush, there is no justice, there is no law, there are no rules, there is no compassion. They take no responsibility for peace. There is no attempt to strengthen the hope of mankind. We are witnessing a state of madness in which the oppressor is honored for his cruelty and the rights of the oppressed are ignored,” said Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a strong tone.

Concluding, he argued that all this shows that “countries that can stand strong, stand up with their own forces have the opportunity to successfully emerge from the chaos that is rocking the global system.”
