Commenting on his father’s parole request, which has been rescheduled for September 2, he commented that he had a vindictive nature which was the only reason he was not out of jail today
The imprisoned ND MEP Fredis Beleris is asking for the support of the expatriate Petros Gikourias, in view of today’s repeat self-governing elections in Heimarra, denouncing the Rama regime for attempting to buy votes and blackmail in favor of his chosen one, also an expatriate, Vangelis Davos.
Speaking to ERT, the son of Fredis Beleris, Petros, emphasized that “today is an election day, but I would not say that it is the celebration of the Republic. It is a very strange election, it is an election of pressure, it is an election of terrorism, an election of “this is what I want”.
“There was no reason to hold elections today if the mayor Fredis Beleris won last year had not been illegally arrested. With Beleris in prison and so much pressure at all levels, elections are held today. The message we want to send is that we are here, we will be here… In Himarra it is a given that we will win no matter what. I hope that the pressure will not pay off in the other villages as well and in the end we will be the ones to celebrate” he added.
Commenting on his father’s parole request, which has been rescheduled for September 2, he commented that he had a vindictive nature which was the only reason he was not out of jail today.
“I wish people would participate even under these procedures. To participate en masse, to send a message of freedom and national pride, not to be afraid and let the truth win”, he concluded.
