“The polls have opened, my heart is in Heimarra”, says the imprisoned ND MEP in his post today Fredis Belerison the occasion of the repeated self-governing elections that are being held today in Himarra.

From Fieri’s prisons, Mr. Beleris emphasizes: “All day my thoughts will be with my brothers and all those who understand that the rule of law and democracy are non-negotiable. With everyone who expressed their support and stood by my side in this ordeal. With all those who did not bend before coup methods and parastatal logic and today they will prove it once again”.

THE ND MEP wishes the candidate good luck Petro Gikouria and invites expatriates to come to the polls. “History is written by those who participate,” he says characteristically.

In detail, the post of Mr. Beleris:

“The polls are open!

My heart today is in Himara. Where today the members of the Greek ethnic minority are fighting the ultimate battle for Democracy and their rights.

From the cell of the Albanian prison where I remain for 425 days, my thoughts all day will be with my brothers and all those who understand that the rule of law and democracy are non-negotiable. With everyone who expressed their support and stood by my side in this ordeal. With all those who did not bend before coup methods and parastatal logic and today they will prove it once again.

Good luck from the heart to Petros Gikourias. He’s proven himself to be a worthy child of Himara already. I am sure that his own hands will lead our Municipality safely the next day. Good luck in our OMONIA. And one last appeal: go to the polls. History is written by those who participate. Good vote, then!”
