On September 10, the first debate between them will take place Donald Trump and her Kamala Harris in view of elections in the USAin November.

The hotly anticipated debate will be hosted by ABC News.

The US network confirmed the showdown in a post on X, after Trump said Thursday he would be open to talks with Kamala Harris and others before the election.

“We think we should have three debates,” Trump said, suggesting two more debates on Fox News and NBC, respectively.

Harris confirmed she would attend the ABC debate during an event in Michigan on Thursday and later said she was open to additional discussions.

The network said the discussion will be moderated by the World News Tonight anchor and editor-in-chief David Muir and anchor of ABC News Live Prime, Linsey Davis.

“I’m looking forward to talking to Donald Trump and we have a date for September 10. I hear he’s finally committed to it and I can’t wait,” Harris said at the event in Detroit.

Trump has already had a debate, the one with Biden last June, which turned out tragically for the American president, who after his disheartening performance was forced to withdraw from the race.

At a press conference Thursday from his home in Mar-a-Lago, Trump also said he would like to talk to Harris two additional times — on Sept. 4 on Fox News and Sept. 25 on NBC.

Trump said that the CBS will host the debate of the two vice presidential candidates, Republican Jay D. Vance and Democrat Tim Walsh.

NBC News is reportedly in talks with both campaigns about a potential debate, the New York Times reported.

Fox News said it sent formal letters to both campaigns last month proposing a September debate in Pennsylvania, though Harris’ campaign said Thursday that “Trump must appear” at the ABC debate before they would confirm any further matchups. .

Trump also criticized Harris for not answering questions from reporters and not giving an interview since taking office.

In fact, he called her “barely competent” and criticized her intelligence.

Later on Thursday, Ms Harris told reporters she had asked her team to “schedule an interview” before the end of the month.
