At least nine people were killed and 26 injured in a road accident near Ankara, Turkey, when a bus crashed into barriers under a bridge in Ankara’s Polatli district early Friday morning, the governor of the Turkish capital’s district said. .
The accident occurred at 5:00 am. (0200 GMT), public television channel TRT reported.
The bus started its journey from Eskişehir, a city west of Ankara.
The governor of the Ankara region, Vasip Şahin, said that the first evidence shows that the driver fell asleep and lost control. However, the authorities have launched an investigation into the exact causes of the accident.
