Video with Ukrainian soldierswho are said to be in the offices of the Russian natural gas company Gazprom in Sunja of the Russian Kursk region, saw the light of day on Friday night. Ukrainians are seen shouting slogans in favor of their country.

Gazprom will continue to send natural gas through Ukraine to Europe, however, Ukraine’s natural gas transit operator said on Wednesday. Kiev forces seized the Russian company’s measuring station near the border town of Sunja. Sunja is the last operational point for Russian gas exports via pipelines to Europe via Ukraine.

The transit route used for deliveries of Russian natural gas to Europe via Ukraine still works however, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushenko clarified on Thursday, following reports of hostilities at the Sunja natural gas transit station. He also clarified that Ukraine had not communicated with Russia regarding the situation in natural gas transit.

Just 60 km northwest from Sunja is the Russian Kursk nuclear power plant. Ukrainian troops have made rapid advances in recent days, reportedly penetrating up to 35 kilometers into Russian territory, according to the independent US-based Institute for the Study of War.
