The international community is watching the developments in the Middle East with bated breath after its morning strike Hezbollah with hundreds of missiles and drones in northern Israel, which responded with aerial bombardments in southern Lebanon.

Israel launched the strikes on Lebanese soil before the Hezbollah operation, as its forces had information about the strike on the Shiite organization, so minutes before the launches began, 100 Israeli warplanes carried out attacks on at least 40 positions in southern Lebanon, destroying rocket and missile launchers that the military said were not only targeting northern Israel, but some of them were set to launch attacks into central Israel as well.

Two of its officers were killed by the Israeli strikes Hezbollahthe organization itself announced.

Hezbollah announced that it launched a “large number of drone strikes” and “320 Katyusha-type rockets” against Israeli territory, specifically against an “important military target”, without specifying who, and then how it completed the “first phase” of retaliation her for his murder Fuad Soukra leading figure in its military arm, in which 11 Israeli military installations were hit, he claimed.

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called an emergency meeting of the Security Councilin which he declared that Israel would take all necessary measures to defend itself.

“We are determined to do everything possible to defend our country, return the people of the north safely to their homes and continue to adhere to one simple rule: Whoever hurts us, we hurt them,” he said.

Israel’s defense minister early this morning declared a state of emergency in Israel for 48 hours. However, Israel later reassessed the situation and proceeded to lift the restrictive measures in a large part of the north, but maintained security instructions in some areas near the border with Lebanon.

Against this background, talks are being held today in Cairo in order to conclude an agreement on a truce, the chances of which, however, seem slim. The Israeli delegation announced on Sunday morning that it will go to Cairo as planned.

Its leaders will be present Mossad David Barnea, of Sin Bet Ronen Barr, o director of the CIA William Burns, o Prime Minister of Qatar and the head of Egypt’s secret services.

Hamas and Houthis congratulated Hezbollah

Hamas congratulated Hezbollah for its “qualitative and significant response” to Israel.

“We praise and congratulate the quality and significant response given by Hezbollah fighters this morning against many vital and strategic targets deep within the Zionist entity in response to the crime of killing Fouad Shukr and his crimes and continued aggression in Gaza Strip and Lebanon,” Hamas said.

Yemen’s Shiite Houthi rebels today congratulated Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement for its attack on Israel and renewed threats to retaliate against Israeli strikes on Hodeidah port last month.

“We congratulate Hezbollah and its secretary general for the great and brave attack launched by the resistance this morning against the Israeli enemy,” noted the Houthi in their statement.

They also added that a response to the July 20 Israeli strikes against the port of Hodeidah, which they control, will “definitely come”.

Hezbollah’s “response” confirms that the resistance is “strong” and able to “keep its commitments and threats”, the Houthis stressed.

Shiite rebels have warned they will launch attacks against Israel after the July 20 strikes, which were Israel’s response to a Houthi drone strike on Tel Aviv that left one dead.

“We reiterate that Yemen’s response will not be delayed,” they stressed.
