Kuleba appeals for fighters: “How can you sleep when Ukrainian children are under bombs?”

by

A new dramatic appeal to the leaders of the West was addressed on Thursday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for to send fighters to his country to contribute to the battles against Russian forces. “How can you sleep when Ukrainian children are under bombs in Mariupol, Kherson, Kharkiv and other cities?” wondered via Twitter.

“Our aces heroically defend our heavens. But Russia has an advantage. Dear partners, you have not yet procured military aircraft in Ukraine: how can you sleep when Ukrainian children are under bombs in Mariupol, Kherson, Kharkiv and other cities? You can make that decision now. Do it! ” said Dmitro Kouleba characteristically.

Ukraine has also asked the West apply a no-fly zone over its airspace – but the request has been repeatedly rejected. This measure would mean that military forces – especially NATO – would be directly involved with any Russian aircraft located in the sky and would “hit” them, if necessary.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky commented that if the leaders remained reluctant to impose such a thing, they should at least provide Ukraine with fighter jets.
