The Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) announced that they were carrying out an “operation to prevent terrorism in Jenin and Tulkarem” in the occupied West Bank.

According to the Palestinian Authority’s health ministry, two people were killed and two were injured “as a result of the occupation’s attack on Jenin”.

He also stated that the dead are two men, 25 and 39 years old, without giving further information.

According to Al Jazeera, Israeli forces are carrying out another night of violent raids in the occupied territories, while fighting was also reported in the Balata refugee camp in the city of Nablus.

The operation comes two days after Israel said it carried out an airstrike in the West Bank that the Palestinian Authority said killed five people.

Violence in the West Bank has risen alongside the war in Gaza, with more than 640 Palestinians killed by Israeli troops and settlers since a Hamas attack on October 7, according to an AFP tally based on data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

At least 19 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks during the same period, according to Israeli officials.
