THE Mikhail Khodorkovsky, The former oligarch, who was jailed and later released by Russian President Vladimir Putin and now lives in exile in London, issued a stern warning about Russia’s intentions in an interview with MTV3 on Wednesday.
According to him, Putin may seek revenge on the United States by taking action against Finland.
If Putin believes that Finland is on the US leash, Finland can expect punitive measures within six months, said Khodorkovsky.
Russia’s success in Ukraine could lead to an operation in the Baltic, he added, noting that in such a scenario, some kind of neutrality could not save Finland, but NATO might.
Finnish President Sauli Niinisto will meet with the US President Joe Biden on Friday in Washington.
“The presidents will discuss Russia’s attack on Ukraine, the effects of the war on the European security order and bilateral co-operation between Finland and the United States,” a joint press release said.
