The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced today Saturday that it is deeply concerned about the information according to which it is possible to transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia is imminent.

In a statement sent to reporters, the ministry notes that the growing military cooperation between Tehran and Moscow it is a threat to Ukraine, Europe and the Middle East. He also asked the international community to intensify the pressure on Iran and Russia.

CNN and the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that Iran has transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia, citing unnamed sources.

In August, Reuters reported that Russia expected the imminent delivery of hundreds of short-range Fath-360 ballistic missiles from Iran. At the same time, dozens of Russian military personnel were being trained in Iran in the use of satellite-guided weapons for possible use in the war in Ukraine.

Yesterday, the US, a key ally of Ukraine, expressed its concern over the possible transfer of Iranian missiles to Russia.

“Any transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia will constitute dramatic escalation to Iran’s support for Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine,” White House Security Council spokesman Sean Savett said.
