@calebgtravels Gideon’s for the FIRST TIME at Disney Springs over ar Disney World. I know, crazy. But the line is usually just SO long that I don’t want to wait. But I lucked out this time, and it was a good cookie! #disney #disneyworld #disneysprings #gideonsbakehouse #cookies ♬ original sound – Caleb

Fire and rescue personnel administered first aid and transported Graves to the hospital, according to Anaheim Police Sergeant Matt Sutter. “Unfortunately, they were trying to revive him for about an hour and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.”

What he declared a few hours before his death

Graves had earlier expressed reservations about the high temperature before running the race, which was held as an extreme heat wave hit California.

“The Disneyland half marathon — the Halloween half marathon — is tomorrow and I’m borderline anxious right now,” he said in a video posted Saturday on his TikTok account.

“I went out today around two, which is probably the hottest part of the day, and it was about 90 degrees (32 degrees Celsius).”

Elsewhere in the video Graves told his 18,000 followers: “I have some sensitivity, I don’t know if it’s temporary or long term, to heat. Because I was out for about 20 minutes, I was walking my dog and it was hot, but I felt fine… and after 10 minutes of coming back, I passed out.”

Before the half marathon began, Graves urged participants to stay safe, warning, “Remember it’s going to be hot. Stay hydrated and listen to your body,” Graves wrote in the caption. “Good luck to all runners!”

Disneyland’s answer

A spokesperson for the Disneyland Resort said, according to The Guardian, that the resort was “deeply saddened by this tragic loss and our hearts go out to Caleb’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
