The World Health Organization announced today that evacuated nearly 100 patients from Gazaincluding dozens of children, and transported them to United Arab Emirates while calling for the resumption of regular removals from the enclave for medical reasons.

“This is the largest removal of people from Gaza since October 2023,” Richard Pipercorn, the WHO representative for the occupied Palestinian territories, told reporters, referring to the operation which took place yesterday, Wednesday.

“Gaza needs humanitarian corridors. We need a system that is better organized and sustainable,” he commented, adding that more than 10,000 Gazans expect to be evacuated.

Patients include people suffering from cancer, blood and kidney diseases and trauma, he said.

Patients were evacuated by road and then by air from Ramon Airport, Israel.
