The Peruvian authorities estimated that thus “the potential production of 146 tons of cocaine hydrochloride was prevented.”

Six million Peruvians consume coca leaves within the framework of the law, according to the national commission for drug-free development and life (DEVIDA).
Peru is among the world’s top cocaine-producing nations, reaching a level roughly equal to that of Bolivia, behind only Colombia.
In the country, approximately 400 tons of this drug are produced annually, according to international organizations.
