“This madness must stop. The whole world is responsible for what our people are suffering in Gaza and the West Bank“, Abbas emphasized, almost a year into the war in the Gaza Strip.
“Israel, which refuses to implement the resolutions of the United Nations, does not deserve to be a member of this international organization“, he said at the same time, expressing his regret that the US is preventing Palestine from joining the UN, where it currently has observer status.
He attacked Israel numerous times, which he once again accused of “occupation” and “genocide” in the Palestinian territories.

The Palestinian president repeated his and the international community’s call for the resumption of negotiations aimed at a “two-state solution”, a process that had been frozen.
