A man who was swept away by the flash floods of Hurricane Milton in St. Petersburg, South Florida was miraculously saved and found floating on top of a home freezer, 50 km from the coast.
Since the monster typhoon’s passage, at least 15 people have lost their lives, although there are fears that number will rise.
The wreck was spotted by a rescue helicopter in the Gulf of Mexico off Longboat Key. A US Coast Guard man got off a helicopter and swam to the man, while winds in the area were blowing 140 km/h and waves were even up to 7 meters.

“This man survived a nightmare scenario for even the most experienced sailor. She survived thanks to her life jacket, emergency locator beacon and a cooler,” said US Coast Guard Lt. Dana Grady.
