OR Ukraine and Russia announced overnight attacks by the rival camp with unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) targeting their territories, with Kiev stating that shot down 24 Russian drones and Moscow to declare that destroyed 47 Ukrainian.

In a statement, the Ukrainian air force said Russia fired missiles at Ukraine from the Belgorod region, without specifying the type or number of missiles fired.

According to the same source, Moscow also launched 28 drones against Ukraine, 24 of which were shot down by its air defense systems over Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolayiv and Kherson regions.

The Ukrainian General Staff also announced that it carried out a strike overnight, without specifying the type of weapon it used, against a fuel depot near the Rovenki district in the Russian-held Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine.

According to the same source, a fire broke out in these facilities, which, according to the same source, supply the armed forces of Russia and had already been hit “in the past” by “Ukrainian weapons”.

Moscow has not confirmed the information about this attack. Kiev has frequently targeted Russian industrial and military facilities in response to shelling by Russian forces in Ukraine since their invasion of that country in February 2022.

For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that it shot down 47 Ukrainian drones overnight, mainly 17 over the Krasnodar region in southwestern Russia, 16 over the Sea of ​​Azov, 12 over the Kursk region.

The governor of the Krasnodar region said in a Telegram post that three houses were damaged and a car was engulfed in flames in Ukrainian drone attacks, which caused no casualties.
