One person died when a press plane attempted to make an emergency landing today Antonov-3 in Yakutia Siberiathe local authorities announced today.

The accident occurred on the outskirts of the city Olekminskwhere “airline An-3 aircraft Borus made an emergency landing.” Photos from the crash site show the small plane crashed in a wooded area.

The plane was carrying five people, three crew members and two passengers, according to the information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Sakha Republic (wider known as Yakutia).

According to initial information, the pilot was forced to attempt an emergency landing due to a loss of engine power, the East Siberian Prosecutor’s Office said in a Telegram post.
