“I think the biggest problem is the people inside the country. We have very bad people. We have crazy people, insane extreme leftists,” the former and current US presidential candidate emphasized
THE Donald Trump said the US military should be used against the “enemy within” in an interview broadcast today, in a new escalation in the Republican nominee’s already inflammatory rhetoric.
“I always say we have two enemies. We have the enemy without and we have the enemy within. And the enemy from within, in my opinion, is more dangerous than China, Russia and all these countries,” the former US president said in an interview with Fox News.
“I think the biggest problem is the people inside the country. We have very bad people. We have crazy people, crazy far-leftists,” he added.
“This should be handled very easily if necessary by the Militia or, if it’s really necessary, by the military,” the Republican presidential candidate said ahead of the Nov. 5 election.
The National Guard is a military defense force, affiliated with various US States, but commanded by the Pentagon when missions are federally mandated.
Her campaign team Kamala Harris expressed her anger towards Trump’s statements.
“I know people have been desensitized to Trump for the last decade, but this should be shocking,” Harris campaign spokesman Ian Shams told X, adding that such statements are “scary.”
Since the start of his campaign, Trump has painted a bleak picture of America, which he says has been ravaged by immigrants, runaway inflation and destructive political correctness.
The Republican billionaire had already used this very bleak rhetoric during his victorious 2016 campaign, then his 2020 defeat, but his words have taken on an even more incendiary dimension.
Without the slightest proof, Trump repeats that his Democratic rival in the election wants to “kill babies” after they are born, calling her a “Marxist”, “communist”, “fascist” who suffers from “mental retardation”.
