An Israeli strike near the area where the Iranian embassy in Beirut used to be was on Wednesday night.

SKAI’s envoy Christos Nikolaidis spoke of an explosion in South Beirut, without prior warning from the IDF.

In a video posted on social networks, an apartment building can be seen on fire.

Lebanese state media reported that an Israeli drone strike hit an apartment in the Jannah neighborhood of southern Beirut on Wednesday. Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that the strike targeted a residential apartment near an area that used to house the Iranian embassy.

He also reported other strikes in the Uzai and Haret Hareik neighborhoods, which had not been preceded by an Israeli evacuation warning. In a post on X, the Lebanese channel Al Mayadeen announced that its Beirut office was the target of “Israeli aggression”. He clarified that the office had been evacuated before the blow.

Shortly after the blast, the Israeli military issued new evacuation warnings for residents in southern Beirut in anticipation of new airstrikes.

The spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released maps of specific buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut, warning people to leave the area immediately. They show 12 targets, 6 are schools.
