Russian forces hit the city of Kharkiv with guided bombs, damaging several houses, while two wounded were taken to hospital, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.
Several injuries were reported overnight from Russian shelling in Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine, local officials said today.
Russian forces hit the city of Kharkiv, the capital of the Kharkiv region, with guided bombs, damaging several houses and sending two wounded people to hospital, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said. More shelling of the city followed, causing widespread destruction, Terekhov later said in a Telegram post.
Four people were injured due to Russian shelling in the wider area, regional governor Oleh Sinyekhubov said in his own post. Shortly after 3 a.m., he reported that the city of Chuhuiv had also been hit, but there were no reports of casualties from this Russian attack.
Since the beginning of the Russian offensive in Ukraine in February 2022, the invaders have frequently launched attacks against Kharkiv, which is only 30 kilometers from the border.
