The lawsuit claims Musk’s $1 million gift amounts to an “illegal lottery operation” in the state and calls on Musk to stop influencing voters
Philadelphia’s attorney general is suing Elon Musk’s America PAC political action committee for handing out $1 million a day to swing states that will determine the winner of the election.
The committee was created by Elon Musk and supports the presidential campaign of Donald Trump, raising funds in his favor.
The lawsuit by Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner alleges that Musk and America PAC “run an illegal lottery in Philadelphia as well as throughout Pennsylvania.”
The lawsuit argues that Musk’s $1 million gift amounts to an “illegal lottery operation” in the state, which is prohibited because state lotteries must be regulated by the commonwealth.
Therefore, Krasner is seeking an emergency injunction by which Musk “must stop, immediately” his “voter influence scheme.”
Nearly half have been given to residents of Pennsylvania, an ambivalent state that could hold the keys to the White House.
