At least nine people were injured, including an 11-year-old girl, and several apartments were on fire after a Russian drone strike in the Ukrainian capital, officials said in the early hours of the morning.

Debris that fell when a drone was destroyed caused a fire in an apartment building in the Solomyansky district in the western part of Kyiv, Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said via Telegram.

“So far, nine people have been injured”Mr. Klitschko noted, adding that “they were all treated by nurses on site.”

The military administration of the Ukrainian capital uploaded a photo showing a burning apartment in an apartment building.

He added that another fire broke out in a high-rise public administration building in Solomianski.

Journalists from the Reuters news agency reported that they heard clicks indicating the activation of anti-aircraft defense units.
