by

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov said Kyiv had frequently requested a meeting between Zelensky and Putin, adding: “This meeting is now being discussed between the two countries’ foreign ministers” in ongoing talks in Antalya.

Peshkov also said that Russia does not seek to divide Ukraine and reiterated that Moscow wants its terms to be accepted, including the establishment of constitutional neutrality.

During the briefing, Peshkov also referred to the bombing of the maternity hospital-children’s hospital in Mariupol, in which three people were killed, among them a little girl, and at least 17 were injured.

According to Peshkov, a special investigation will be carried out into the bombing, emphasizing that explanations and information will be requested from the army.

Earlier in the day, Dmitry Poliansky, Russia’s first deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, said Russia had warned on March 7 that the hospital had been turned into a military post by which Ukrainians were firing.

Peshkov also referred to the sanctions imposed on Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, stressing that “the Russian economy is shocked by the sanctions.”
