‘Our best men fell here, but we held our heads high and carried on,’ says IDF commander – Weapons Found
Troops of the 3rd Brigade confronted terrorists and eliminated threats to Israeli communities in southern Lebanon, the IDF said in a statement.
“Our best men fell here, but we held our heads high and kept fighting and committed to the mission,” said the 89th Battalion commander,
According to the Israeli military, in recent weeks, the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, under the command of the 91st Division, has been conducting limited, localized, targeted raids in southern Lebanon. “The troops confronted and neutralized dozens of terrorists, located hundreds of weapons and destroyed terrorist infrastructure,” they note indicatively.
They added that last week (Friday), during an operation 5 reservists from the 89th Reserve Armored Battalion were killed in action. They are Dan Maori, Alon Safrai, Omri Lotan, Guy Idan and Tom Segal. The Israeli army expressed its condolences to the families and noted that 19 other soldiers were injured in the same incident. “After a complicated evacuation under fire, the troops continued their missions in the area,” he said indicatively.
