About the end of their married life with Yiannis Aivazis, after 17 years, as well as their decision to work together despite their separation, the Maria Korinthiou at “Breakfast Susu”

“Anyone who knows me knows that nothing has changed for me mentally, nor did I expect the bachelor life. We have grown up, we are not even 20 years old. Until now I don’t go out much, I want my peace and quiet. I’m very homely,” Maria Korinthiou said initially and continued:

“Sleeping alone, safety, these are things you have to manage, it’s difficult. We are not talking about 10 years, but about 17. I grew up with Giannis. He is part of my life, he is my man, he is the man I grew up with, that we have lived so much together, that we have made Isminaki who is 16 years old now.

Giannis has not left my life. And now I talked to Giannis because I also did something. Yesterday at the rehearsal I touched his face for fun (laughs). He tapped his ear. I called him to see if everything was okay. With painkiller he fell asleep, ok.

I wanted to say that Giannis is a part of my life and that will not change, nor does he want to change. We distanced ourselves from other things, from other situations that no longer “served” us mentally. It’s very human.”

But how did they decide to work together professionally despite the fact that now the separation is a fact and they no longer live together?

“The reason we decided to do this job is because we would be together. Many times you say look how life deals with the karmic and with the signs that you may receive. At some point we went through the process of saying oops now what do we do with the work we have to do together? We did not enter into the reasoning that we will not do it because they have something to say or because they will say that it is a publicity stunt” she says and continues:

“I was sure it would be said. At some point I took a position to set my limits. It is a family and I have a child. We have to set our limits. Of course, we can say whatever we want, but here is the red line that if you cross it, there will be problems.”

While of course he also mentioned their daughter Ismeni who will finish school in two years. She herself had declared years ago that if Ismeni goes abroad, she will follow her. Now she validates it, absolutely sure of what she wants:

“My daughter has already started organizing it. What will I do? I’ll move in with her, that’s what I’ll do. About a year ago I had one foot abroad. Now I have both feet abroad, the head is left here. I am a traveling soul, I love to travel. I would clearly dare it. The reason I haven’t ventured out for so long is because I’m a mom and I have a kid.

But right now my little boy is 16 years old, my little boy is starting to grow up. My child is programmed and starts. It’s a sticking to the wall, you start to see that your child is now unhooking from you. “Oops what am I doing? Where am I going” you say. We have discussed it, even last year he wanted to go abroad. He wants to give panhellenics and see. I am of the opinion that he should go abroad.”
