American B-52 bombers have arrived in the Middle East, the US armed forces announced yesterday Saturday, the day after the Pentagon announced that it would deploy more military means for the “defense of Israel” as a warning to Iran.

The American Pentagon announced last Friday evening the imminent deployment of additional forces in the region, with a horizon of “the next months”, for the “defense of Israel” and as a warning to Iran, a sworn enemy of the Jewish state and a black sheep for Washington.
“If Iran, its partners or organizations close to it take advantage of this moment to target US (military) personnel or interests in the region,” Washington “will take all necessary measures to defend our people,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said.
Additional assets to be deployed include anti-ballistic missile systems, fighters, B-52 long-range bombers and other military aircraft.
The US is the main international ally of Israel, which has been waging a war in the Gaza Strip against Hamas since October 7, 2023, and against Hezbollah in Lebanon since September 23.
Israel’s air force launched a strike against military targets in Iran on October 26, in retaliation for the Islamic Republic’s firing of some 200 rockets into Israeli territory on October 1. Both movements are supported by Tehran.
For the first time this year, Iran and Israel — sworn enemies — are directly exchanging fire. The Israeli Air Force launched a strike against military targets in Iran on October 26, in retaliation for the Islamic Republic’s firing of no less than 200 missiles at Israeli territory on October 1.
