In particular, soldiers of the Egoz unit together with field investigators from the 504 unit, under the leadership of the 210th Division, arrested an agent of the Iranian terrorist network in Syria.
THE Ali Soleiman al-Assi is a Syrian citizen living in the Saida region of southern Syria. His activities included gathering intelligence on Israeli troops in the border area for the benefit of the network’s future terrorist activities.
Ali Soleiman al-Assi was under the surveillance of the Israeli Armed Forces, arrested and taken to Israel for questioning. The operation by Israeli troops to arrest al-Assi prevented a potential future attack and led to the revelation of the operational methods of Iranian terrorist networks located near the Golan Heights.
