Russian forces attacked the Kharkivits second largest city Ukrainianand surrounding areas, with guided bombs yesterday, injuring at least 15 people, local governor Oleh Sinekhubov said.

Sinekhubov said via Telegram that the attack damaged two apartment buildings and windows in infrastructure facilities, two supermarkets, a cafe, 21 kiosks and a shopping mall.

The injured included four Interior Ministry workers, the governor said.

The city, located in eastern Ukraine, has been a regular target of Russian airstrikes since the Russia began its invasion in February 2022.

Sinekhubov said Russian forces had severely damaged a five-story apartment building in Kivsarivka, a small town near Kupyansk, east of Kharkiv.

Ukraine also said its air defenses shot down 50 Iranian-designed Russian drones carrying explosives overnight in nine regions of the country, including the capital Kiev, and that a Russian cruise missile hit the eastern Dnipropetrovsk region.
