Satisfaction prevails in the Greek lobby of the USA for the election, or re-election for several, of expatriate politicians in the House of Representatives in the USA, after yesterday’s election process in the country.

Of the 6 Greek-American candidates, three locked in their re-election while another three are being elected for the first time.

Republican Nicole Malliotakis – the heavy artillery of the Republicans in New York – secured a 3rd term.

In New York’s 11th District, he secured victory with 64.7%, with 96% of the vote counted.

Democrat Chris Pappas won New Hampshire’s 1st District and is re-elected.

According to 90% of the count, he secures a seat in the House of Representatives, garnering 54.4 of the votes.

Democrat Maggie Goodlander (wife of National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan) won in New Hampshire’s 2nd District and is being elected for the first time.

With 92% of the votes counted, Gudlander, originally from Avdella Grevenon, secures victory with a percentage of 53.3%.

Republican Mike Haridopoulos won in Florida’s hurricane-ravaged 8th District and prepares for her first two years in Congress.

With 99% of the votes counted, the 54-year-old expatriate politician secured victory with a percentage of 62.3%.

Republican Gus Bilirakis was re-elected – and in a landslide – in Florida’s 12th District, continuing the long family tradition in the House of Representatives.

With 99% of the votes counted, the 54-year-old expatriate secures victory with a percentage of 71.1%.

Democratic Congresswoman Dina Titus looks to be re-elected – for an 8th time – in Nevada’s 1st District.

According to 87% of the count, she leads with 51.1 of the votes against her Republican opponent, Mark Robertson who gathers 45.5%.

In the 1st District of New York, John Avlon (originally from Corfu) is losing the seat to incumbent Republican Rep. Nick LaLotta.

At 98% of the count, the former CNN analyst collected 44.3%, compared to LaLotta’s 55.7%.
